A rare and exceptional find sourced from a clean local estate — two pristine mid-century 10-inch pressings from London Records' celebrated "Origins of Jazz" archival series, chronicling the landmark 1924 recording sessions of legendary cornetist Bix Beiderbecke. Exceptionally well-preserved and offered together as a matched pair, this bundle is a genuine collector's opportunity.
About Bix Beiderbecke
Leon Bismarck "Bix" Beiderbecke (1903–1931) remains one of the most luminous and tragic figures in jazz history. A self-taught cornetist from Davenport, Iowa, Beiderbecke possessed a tone so pure and lyrical that Louis Armstrong himself called it "the most beautiful sound I ever heard in my life." His 1924 sessions with The Wolverines — recorded when he was just 21 years old — are widely regarded as foundational documents of early jazz, capturing a voice that was wholly original and heartbreakingly brief. London Records' mid-century reissues brought these recordings to a new generation of listeners, pressed with care and housed in the now-iconic yellow and pink graphic sleeves of the Origins of Jazz series.

Condition
Media / Vinyl: Very Good Plus (VG+) to Excellent (EX). Both 10-inch discs are beautiful, exceptionally clean, and highly glossy — retaining their full original mirror-like shine with minimal to no surface hairlines or scuffs. Clearly played very sparingly and handled with great care by their previous owner.
Sleeve / Jacket: Good (G) to Very Good (VG). Both covers display typical aging characteristics of 1950s UK-style paper laminate sleeves — visible laminate lifting and bubbling, soft edge crinkling, and light creasing along the outer margins. The original yellow and pink graphic artwork remains incredibly bright and vibrant, text is fully legible, and all seams and spines are structurally stable with no splits.
Please review all photos carefully as they form part of the condition description.
